Who It's For
At any stage of the journey
Whether you just got your first real job or you're months from retirement,
FireCA has tools built for where you actually are.
Young Professionals
Starting to build wealth
You're earning, saving, and want to actually see your net worth grow.
You've heard about FIRE and want to know when you could actually stop working.
→ Log net worth monthly and watch the chart go up
→ Find out your FI number and years to FIRE
→ Compare TFSA vs RRSP contribution impact
→ See how saving $500 more buys retirement days
Mid-Career Planners
Getting serious about FI
You have real money invested, a LIRA from an old job, maybe a house.
You want to know if you're on track and what levers actually matter.
→ Model Coast FI — when can you stop saving extra?
→ Run up to 5,000 Monte Carlo simulations on your plan
→ Compare drawdown order strategies for tax efficiency
→ Plan as a couple with spouse benefits included
Near or In Retirement
Making the money last
You're close to or already retired. The question isn't how to
accumulate anymore — it's whether your money survives 30+ years
and how to minimize taxes along the way.
→ Compare CPP/QPP start ages and estimated breakeven
→ Model RRSP meltdown before RRIF kicks in at 71
→ Test your plan against 2008, dot-com, stagflation
→ Calculate OAS clawback at different income levels

Net Worth Tracker
Log snapshots over time with per-account breakdowns. Track RRSP, TFSA,
FHSA, LIRA, Non-Reg, Cash, Crypto, spouse accounts, and corporate assets separately.
Account blocks include totals, while the net-worth breakdown shows liabilities and
home equity clearly. See contributions versus market gains at each point in time.
Two-phase FI calculation — Phase 1 before CPP/QPP and OAS when your portfolio
funds everything, Phase 2 after benefits start. Shows exactly how much
CPP and OAS reduce your required savings. The displayed initial withdrawal
rate is your planned annual spending divided by projected plan assets at
retirement; it is a plan diagnostic, not an enforced 4% withdrawal.

Monte Carlo Simulation
Run 500–5,000 randomized market simulations to understand your real
probability of reaching FI or surviving retirement. Configure volatility
to match your actual portfolio risk, and switch the fan chart to a focused
scale when a zero-based axis hides meaningful differences. The sequence-of-returns insight panel
shows how your odds shift depending on whether your first 5 years of
retirement land in the worst or best 25% of markets.

Retirement Bridge & Risk
See how the portfolio funds the years between retirement and the first CPP/QPP,
OAS, or pension payment. Bridge-funding charts separate portfolio cost from later
benefit income, while failure-age and spending-cut views show when weak paths fail
and whether a modest adjustment materially improves survival.
Year-by-year drawdown simulation with your actual account balances,
drawdown order, LIF and RRIF mechanics, CPP/QPP and OAS timing, DB pension
and bridge income, and OAS

revise future events as the plan changes. Finds your safe spending rate automatically.
Real Spending mode models retirement in today’s purchasing power with a configurable inflation rate.
Compare CPP start ages from 60 to 70, or QPP through age 72 when Quebec
is selected. Review estimated breakeven ages, lifetime income, and the
effect delayed benefits have on portfolio withdrawals.

Canadian Tax & Benefits
Choose a province or territory and model retirement with either a simplified
progressive bracket estimate or your own flat-tax assumption. The shared engine
distinguishes taxable registered withdrawals, tax-free TFSA funding, partial
non-registered gains, OAS recovery tax, pension splitting, and CPP/QPP sharing.

RRSP Meltdown
Model bracket-filling RRSP withdrawals before CPP, OAS, and RRIF
minimums stack up. Set annual-percent, taxable-income, or age-71 balance targets,
coordinate LIRA-to-LIF conversion and eligible Ontario unlocking assumptions,
and see how the strategy feeds the retirement runway.
Test your retirement plan against 8 historical crash sequences —
2008 GFC, dot-com bust, 1970s stagflation, COVID, 2022 rate shock,
the Lost Decade, and more. See exactly which scenarios your plan survives.

Couple / Spouse Mode
Plan as a household with combined accounts, separate CPP/QPP and OAS
timing for each spouse, pension-income-splitting estimates, optional CPP/QPP
sharing assumptions, and blended benefit income. Includes
spouse snapshot history, a dedicated spouse accounts chart, and separate
benefit optimization without replacing the personal or corporate history.
Track multiple properties with individual growth rates, ownership percentages,
rental income, and planned sale ages. Model your mortgage payoff timeline alongside
your FIRE plan, including a planned earlier payoff date after a future lump sum.
Choose how much freed cash flow redirects into investments after payoff; the redirect
begins on the selected payoff date and normally ends at retirement, when employment
income stops. Lump sums reduce the mortgage without being double-counted as investments.

Corporate Planning
Track corporate cash, investments, book value, and whether corporate assets count
toward FI or net worth. Compare simple and detailed extraction estimates using CDA,
RDTOH, tax-free repayments, investment-income tax, and refundable tax assumptions,
then set a wind-down objective and target closure age.

Plans & Decision Centre
Named profiles are independent plans with their own data. Decision Centre scenarios are
saved comparison bookmarks inside the active plan: review retirement timing, benefits,
corporate wind-down, spending, and account choices, then apply a beneficial scenario to
update the authoritative setting before rerunning projections.

Plan Health & Retirement Ledger
Plan Health reviews missing, uncertain, or conflicting assumptions and links back
to the setting that resolves each item. Planner Notes convert findings into practical
follow-ups, while the retirement ledger expands every year into income, spending,
tax, withdrawal sources, milestone events, and ending balances.

Net Worth Milestones & Annual Review
Track your progress through key wealth milestones — $100K, $250K, $500K, $1M, and $2M.
See which milestones you've achieved (with the date you first crossed them), which is next,
and what's ahead. Generate a comprehensive annual review PDF showing your year-over-year
progress, FI ratio movement, milestones achieved, and full snapshot history with color-coded deltas.
Model your equity allocation through the sequence-of-returns danger zone around your FIRE date.
Six interactive sliders control your pre-FIRE equity %, trough equity %, post-FIRE target %,
and timing (years before FIRE to start declining, years at trough, years to recover).

TFSA & RRSP Room Trackers
Calculate your exact TFSA contribution room based on your birth year — shows cumulative room
since 2009 (or age 18), with inputs for lifetime contributions and withdrawals re-added in prior years.
Live over-contribution warnings included. RRSP room tracker shows remaining contribution room
and how many years of current contributions it can absorb.

HBP & LLP Repayment Tracker
Track Home Buyers' Plan (HBP) and Lifelong Learning Plan (LLP) withdrawals and repayment schedules.
Enter your withdrawal amount and year — the app auto-computes the full repayment schedule,
shows balance owing, annual minimum repayment, and whether this year's payment is still due.
Models the standard CRA repayment schedules used by the planner.
Inspect projected account balances, annual contributions, mortgage-payment redirects,
cash/HISA/GIC return assumptions, and growth year by year. Switch among 5-, 10-, 15-,
20-, and 30-year horizons to see whether a near-term shift remains meaningful over the
full accumulation plan.
Educational overlay in the Monte Carlo tab explains why the sequence of returns matters for retirement success.
Shows two hypothetical retirees with identical average returns but reversed order of good/bad years,
side-by-side with an inline SVG chart. Illustrates how unlucky timing can cause a ~41% worse outcome
even with the same long-term average return.

Built for Canada
Most calculators don't know what a LIRA is
American FIRE calculators are built around 401(k)s, IRAs, and Social Security.
Canadian retirement math is fundamentally different — and using
the wrong tool leads to real planning errors.

Model the portfolio before and after government benefits begin
When you factor in CPP/QPP timing, OAS recovery-tax thresholds, RRIF minimum
withdrawal schedules, and LIRA conversion rules — the details
matter enormously. FireCA models them from published Canadian

The FireCA Ecosystem
Three focused tools. One financial picture.
Your finances are bigger than one dashboard. FireCA, Cashflow Pilot, and Dividend Pilot
each stay focused on the job they do best — so you can understand your money today,
understand what your investments are doing, and turn that picture into a retirement plan.
Investment layer · Dividend Pilot
Know what your portfolio is actually producing.
See what you own, what it is worth, where your investment income comes from,
and what is coming next — across accounts, currencies, stocks, and ETFs.

Net worth and portfolio-level context alongside your everyday finances
Turn your financial picture and retirement assumptions into a Canada-specific FIRE plan —

FI number, Coast FIRE, retirement timing, and scenario comparisons
CPP/QPP, OAS, RRSP, TFSA, LIRA/LIF, corporate assets, and tax estimates
Monte Carlo, historical stress testing, and year-by-year retirement drawdown
Each app is useful on its own. Together, they cover the path from what is happening with
your money now to the long-term decisions that determine when you can retire.
Cashflow Pilot → FireCA
Spending → FIRE planning
Cashflow Pilot can establish your real-world spending picture so FireCA can use better
monthly and annual expense assumptions when planning financial independence.
Dividend Pilot → Cashflow Pilot
Portfolio → financial picture
Dividend Pilot stays the detailed investment engine while Cashflow Pilot can show
portfolio-level context beside cash, debts, spending, and net worth.
Your finances → FireCA
Financial picture → retirement plan
FireCA turns balances, spending assumptions, income sources, and retirement choices into
FI targets, tax-aware drawdown scenarios, and long-term stress tests.
Independent today. Designed for deeper integration. Each app keeps its own data
and can be used on its own. The connections above describe how the tools complement each other;
automatic cross-app syncing will only be described when those integrations are actually available.

Yes. Named profiles are separate plans with their own saved data, so you can keep
conservative, aggressive, personal, or household plans independent. Decision Centre
scenarios are comparison bookmarks within the active plan; saving one does not change
the real settings until you apply it. You can also copy a profile or share a compressed
plan URL without creating an account.

Absolutely. FireCA is useful for anyone who wants to track their net worth
over time, model Canadian retirement accounts, plan CPP/QPP and OAS timing,
or understand how long their savings will last in retirement.
"FIRE" is just one use case — the retirement planning and net worth
tracking tools work for any Canadian planning for the future.
FireCA applies published CPP/QPP and OAS timing factors to the estimates you enter.
CPP can start from 60 to 70, while the Quebec setting allows QPP through age 72.
The current model uses the $93,454 threshold for 2025 income, which determines the
July 2026–June 2027 OAS recovery period. Benefit amounts and indexed thresholds change,
so treat every result as a planning estimate and verify current figures with Service
Canada, Retraite Québec, and the CRA.
Yes. Household planning adds separate account balances, CPP/QPP and OAS dates,
pension and other income, and spouse snapshot history. The shared retirement engine
combines both income streams and can estimate eligible pension-income splitting and
optional CPP/QPP sharing assumptions.
Accumulating mode is for people still working toward financial independence.
It calculates your FI number, tracks your net worth against your projection,
and runs Monte Carlo simulations on your savings timeline.
FIRE'd mode is for people at or near retirement — it simulates your
year-by-year drawdown, models CPP/QPP and OAS timing, runs historical crash tests,
and exposes a retirement ledger for income, tax, withdrawals, and balances.
FireCA is the long-term FIRE and retirement planning layer. Cashflow Pilot focuses on
actual accounts, transactions, spending, budgets, cash flow, net worth, and the broader
day-to-day financial picture. Dividend Pilot goes deeper on holdings, market data,
dividend income, and portfolio analysis. Each tool works independently today; together
they cover the path from investments and everyday money to long-term retirement planning.
