Your financial data stays yours

Last updated: June 16, 2026
Short version: FireCA stores your financial planning inputs locally on your own device. We do not operate a server-side database for your account balances, income, retirement assumptions, or net worth snapshots. However, the web and mobile apps may use third-party services for analytics, advertising including Google AdSense and Google AdMob, app store purchases, and diagnostics. These services may receive limited technical, usage, advertising, diagnostic, or purchase-related data, but they do not receive the financial values you enter into FireCA.

About FireCA

FireCA ("we", "our", or "the app") is a Canadian retirement planning app available at fireca.app and as a mobile application on iOS and Android. We provide tools for net worth tracking, FIRE planning, and retirement drawdown modeling.

FireCA is designed so your financial planning inputs stay local to your device. We do not require a user account, and we do not operate a server-side database containing your account balances, income, expenses, retirement assumptions, or net worth snapshots.

Data We Collect

FireCA does not collect, transmit, or store your financial planning inputs on our servers.

The financial data you enter is stored locally on your own device. This may include account balances, income, monthly expenses, retirement assumptions, contribution history, net worth snapshots, and planning settings.

Local financial data may include RRSP, TFSA, FHSA, LIRA/LIF, RRIF, taxable accounts, corporate assets, cash, real estate, debt, CPP, OAS, pension, spouse or household inputs, tax assumptions, retirement scenarios, and net worth history.

Your financial planning values are not sent to FireCA servers. There is no FireCA account database containing your balances, income, retirement plan, or net worth history.

Some third-party services used by the web or mobile app may process limited technical, usage, advertising, diagnostic, or purchase-related information. These services are described below.

How Data Is Stored

FireCA uses your browser's localStorage on the web and local device storage in the mobile app to persist your settings, account balances, retirement assumptions, and net worth snapshots between sessions.

You can view, export, import, or delete this local data at any time:

๐Ÿ“ค
Export All Data
Use FireCA's export option to download a JSON backup of your local app data.
๐Ÿ“ฅ
Import Data
Move your data to another device or browser using the app's import option.
๐Ÿ—‘๏ธ
Delete All Data
In the web app, clear browser localStorage. In the mobile app, use any in-app reset option if available, clear app storage in Android settings, or uninstall the app.

Advertising

FireCA may display advertisements served by Google AdSense on the web version and Google AdMob in the native mobile app to support free access to the app. Google's advertising services may process cookies, device identifiers, advertising identifiers where permitted, IP address, approximate location, app information, device information, ad interactions, and similar technical data to serve ads, measure ad performance, limit abuse, prevent fraud, and personalize advertising depending on your platform settings and consent choices.

Google's advertising services are governed by Google's own privacy policy. You can manage personalized advertising at adssettings.google.com or review Google's Privacy Policy at policies.google.com/privacy.

FireCA does not include your balances, income, expenses, account names, retirement assumptions, net worth snapshots, share URLs, or other financial planning inputs in ad request payloads.

The native app may request AdMob banner ads. Depending on the version, platform, region, consent status, and launch configuration, ads may be personalized or non-personalized. On iOS, access to Apple's Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA) is controlled by Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework and device privacy settings. FireCA may also support Apple's SKAdNetwork-based ad attribution through Google's Mobile Ads SDK where applicable.

Analytics

FireCA uses analytics to understand aggregate product usage and improve feature quality. The web pages may use Google Analytics, and the app may use Firebase Analytics.

FireCA analytics is designed to record high-level usage actions only, such as app opens, tab views, chart views, scenario runs, snapshot saves, upgrade flow starts, entitlement activation, PDF exports, share starts, and settings-category changes.

We do not send sensitive planning values to analytics services. FireCA does not log balances, income, expenses, withdrawal amounts, FI targets, retirement ages, dates of birth, spouse financial values, account-level values, or encoded share URLs in analytics events.

Analytics helps us identify which parts of FireCA are useful, where users hit friction, and which premium features drive upgrade interest, without collecting your detailed financial plan data.

Third-Party Services

FireCA may use the following third-party services:

Google may use the data it collects through AdSense, AdMob, Google Analytics, and Firebase according to its own terms and privacy policies. You can learn more at Google Privacy Policy and How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.

These services operate under their own privacy policies. We aim to minimize third-party services and avoid sending them your financial planning values.

Mobile App

The FireCA mobile app for iOS and Android is designed to function similarly to the web version in terms of privacy. Your financial planning inputs are stored locally on your device using local app storage.

We do not have access to the financial values you enter in the mobile app. Uninstalling the app or clearing app storage may remove locally stored data from your device.

The mobile app may use RevenueCat to manage in-app purchases, subscriptions, entitlements, and restore-purchase functionality. RevenueCat may receive purchase-related information and technical identifiers needed to confirm what features you have purchased. Your FireCA financial planning inputs are not sent to RevenueCat.

The mobile app may also use Firebase Analytics for privacy-safe usage measurement. Events are limited to high-level feature usage and upgrade funnel activity and are designed to exclude detailed financial inputs.

The mobile app may display a native Google AdMob banner ad. AdMob may process standard ad request, measurement, fraud-prevention, and diagnostic data such as device and app information, IP address, approximate location, advertising identifiers where permitted, ad interactions, and consent status. FireCA does not send financial planning inputs to AdMob.

The mobile app may also rely on Google Play, Apple App Store, or platform-level diagnostics for app distribution, crash reporting, billing, and purchase processing.

App Store Privacy Disclosures

FireCA's Google Play Data Safety and Apple App Privacy disclosures are intended to match this policy. Depending on the version of the app you use, disclosed data types may include app interactions, diagnostics, device identifiers, advertising identifiers where permitted, approximate location, coarse technical location derived from IP address, ad interaction data, product interaction data, and purchase history.

Data associated with advertising may be used for third-party advertising, analytics, fraud prevention, security, and app functionality. If personalized advertising or cross-app tracking is enabled in a future app version, FireCA will follow the platform consent requirements, including Apple's App Tracking Transparency requirements where applicable.

FireCA does not sell your financial planning data. We do not send your account balances, income, expenses, net worth snapshots, retirement assumptions, spouse planning inputs, or household financial details to our own servers.

If a store listing, app permission, or third-party service disclosure differs from this page, we will update this policy to keep it aligned with the current app version.

Children's Privacy

FireCA is a financial planning tool intended for adults. It is not directed at children or users under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

If you believe a child has provided personal information through a third-party service connected to FireCA, please contact us so we can review the issue.

Your Rights (PIPEDA)

Under Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), you may have rights to access, correct, and request deletion of personal information held about you.

Since FireCA does not maintain a server-side account database containing your financial planning inputs, there is generally no FireCA-hosted financial data for us to provide, correct, or delete. Your financial planning data is managed locally on your own device.

You are in control of your local FireCA data. Export it, import it to another device, delete it by clearing browser localStorage, clear app storage, or uninstall the mobile app.

For data processed by third-party services such as Google, Apple, or RevenueCat, your rights may need to be exercised directly with those providers or through the applicable app store account settings.

Financial Disclaimer

FireCA provides educational retirement planning estimates only. It is not financial, tax, legal, accounting, or investment advice.

Results depend on user-entered assumptions, market conditions, tax rules, inflation, investment returns, government benefit rules, and other factors that may change over time. Actual outcomes may differ materially from estimates shown in the app.

You should consult a qualified financial planner, tax professional, accountant, or legal advisor before making important financial decisions.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy as FireCA evolves, including when features, advertising, analytics, mobile app functionality, purchase options, or third-party services are added, modified, or removed.

The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect the most recent revision. Continued use of FireCA after changes means you accept the updated policy.
